All-in-one, on purpose
The calendar, chores, meals, lists, and photo frame all living in one app is the point, not a feature. If we made you open three apps to run your Tuesday, we failed.
About Poppycal
No venture funding, no growth team, no roadmap dictated by a board. Just two parents, making the app their own family needed.
Hi, I’m Nate. Poppycal is a family organizer my wife Jess and I built because we couldn’t find one that fit our budget and also had all the features we wanted, such as a school module.
Here’s what our weeks looked like before: the calendars, the to-do lists, the half-lost sticky notes, the “I swear I wrote that down somewhere” papers stacked on the counter. And somehow still the same questions every day. What’s for dinner tonight? Do we have anything going on this weekend? Wait, I forgot to tell you I have something in two days. Did you finish your chores today? Shoot, I forgot to leave a note for the sitter.
It was a lot. And honestly, exhausting trying to keep it all straight.
We didn’t want another app that solved part of the problem, or more printables that ended up forgotten after a week. We wanted everything in one place. Simple, flexible, and accessible from anywhere, on anything, at any time.
We looked at what was out there. Some apps locked basic features behind a paywall. Some required a $300 tablet before you could use the parts that mattered. Some only synced calendars in one direction. None of them combined calendar, chores, meal planning, and groceries the way we wanted, on devices we already owned.
So we built it ourselves. Jess shaped the direction from the start, making sure it reflected how our home actually runs, included everyone in the family, and worked for all kinds of households. I took that vision and built Poppycal from the ground up.
That’s how it came together: one shared frustration, one clear direction, and a decision that if it didn’t exist yet, we’d just have to create it ourselves.

This is a small, independent app built and run by our family. No big company behind it, no investor roadmap, no team of fifty. Just Jess and me, building something our own family uses every day. If something feels off or you have a question, email me at [email protected] and I’ll actually read it and write back.

Four commitments that shape every design decision inside the app.
The calendar, chores, meals, lists, and photo frame all living in one app is the point, not a feature. If we made you open three apps to run your Tuesday, we failed.
Your family already owns what you need to run this: a phone, an old iPad, a laptop. We will never sell you a $300 frame to unlock your own calendar.
Flat $4.99/month or $39/year. No per-user fees. No paywall on your own calendar history. No "AI tier" add-on. One plan, everything included. Always.
We don't sell your family's schedule to anyone. If you cancel, you can export your calendar and leave without losing a thing.
Your family’s already running on something. Right now, that something is you. Let it be Poppycal instead.
